How NextFace keeps video chat safe
Random video chat means meeting people you didn’t pick. This page is what we do about that, what we don’t keep, and what you can do yourself. No slogans, just the mechanics.
What the site does
Moderation around the clock
There’s a moderation team on duty 24 hours a day, and reports go to them. Moderation is a floor, not a guarantee: the controls below are there so you never have to wait on anyone.
Report and block
If someone crosses a line, end the chat. Then open their profile and report them, or block them. A blocked person won’t be matched with you again. Both are done from the profile after the chat, not from inside the call.
Next keeps people away
Pressing Next doesn’t just end the chat. Whoever you skipped goes on the bench for a while, so a bad match is less likely to reappear on the very next tap. Treat it as a convenience, not a safety feature: anyone who crossed a line should be blocked and reported. The Next walkthrough goes into the sequence.
Nothing recorded
NextFace does not record video or voice chats.
Your own controls, mid-chat
Three switches are always within reach during a call: camera, blur and mic. Flip the camera off and the call carries on as voice. Blur softens what the other side sees of you. Mute does what it says. None of them end the chat, and all of them can be undone a second later. If the camera itself won’t come on, the connection guide walks through the usual causes.
Adults only
NextFace is for people 18 and over. You confirm that before your first chat. If you think someone you matched with is under 18, report them.
What you can do
- Keep your details out of it. Your real name, where you live, where you work, your phone number, your socials. A good conversation doesn’t need any of them, and a bad one shouldn’t get them. There’s a longer piece on what the other person can actually see.
- Use the camera controls early. Blur or switch off as soon as the call opens, talk for a minute, then decide how much to show.
- Don’t send money, and don’t move the chat. Anyone who asks for money, gift cards or an app switch in the first minutes is running a script. Next, then report.
- Leave early, not politely. If something feels off, you don’t owe anyone an explanation. Press Next.
- Report the ones that matter. Nudity, threats, anyone who seems underage, anyone asking for personal details. Reports are how the team finds them.

For parents
NextFace is an adults-only service and asks every visitor to confirm they’re 18 or over before chatting. If you want to make sure it can’t be reached from a family device, block nextface.chat using the parental controls on your router or the screen-time settings on the device.
Reaching the safety team
If you believe someone under 18 is using the service, or something needs a human beyond the report button, email [email protected] with the nickname and the time of the chat. Other ways to reach us are on the contact page, and who we are is on the about page.
You’ve read the fine print.
Camera on or off, the Next button is always right there.
Free to start. 18+ only.
